I tried the method you mentioned, but the issue still occurs. I'll copy and paste his post in case someone reads this in the future. I tried both of your solutions before making this thread to no avail, I literally tried almost everything. Originally posted by Method4DMad:Got it! Having said that, it sounds like your rig can run Planet Coaster just fine, which is the spiritual successor to RCT3 that came out last November, made by all the same developers. It's basically RCT3 but better. Peeps slow it down the most, so it helps to empty the park, build a lot of stuff, then open it up (assuming you're in Sandbox, scenarios do seem to run better) and night time is definitely laggier than day. There are little tweaks you can do that do help some, you can Google the list or I'll try and find it later. The power that should be split between 2 cores is being split between 4 (or 6, or 8), so each core is having to work a lot harder. Basically if your CPU was made anytime after 2010, it will struggle running large parks in RCT3. RCT3 is a CPU intensive game (as many games were back then, before GPU development became the standard) and the CPU is not optimized for anything over a dual core. Yep, sadly that is the folly of RCT3 in the modern age. You still won't be able to change the Read Only option in the folders, but you have access to the files which is what really matters. Its a shallow grind, which challenges none of the players management skills, and comes across more as an opportunity to simply decorate a theme park. In the world of simulation games, Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic is a blast from the past, combining the best parts of the original RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. RollerCoaster Tycoon: Adventures is pleasant on the eyes, but is in every other way a disappointment. Got it! Thanks to a genius from the Windows 8 forums, I was able to solve it.
